What is MRE?

mre stands for Meal, Ready to Eat. They are military meals that contain a balanced mix of carbohydrates and fats. The typical menu includes a bread item such as biscuits or muffins; a spread such as peanut butter or cheese spread; a main entree item such as ham slices in barbecue sauce or beef strips in mushroom gravy; and powdered beverages and snacks. MRE is an imaging test that uses magnetic resonance to measure the stiffness of liver tissue.
